I bought a new car shortly after I got back from vacation, it is a 97 Lexus LS400 with only 50K. I have two of them now and I think I am going to start a collection (i wish). I knew we needed a new car because Vanessa's isn't going to run much longer, but I didn't plan on getting something new anytime soon. When I went and looked at the car it was an offer that I couldn't refuse. As soon as I take some pics of it, I will post them on here for all to see.
I have some mods planned for the future but I am not going to change it a whole lot. I like it the way it is.
So, I am back from holiday. Me and Nessa went to Orlando, Florida and tried to stay as far away from Disney as possible. Just kidding Craig! We went to the Universal Studios theme park and Islands of Adventure. The rest of our stay we spent milling around International Drive, generally acting like crazy tourists. The vacation didn't last long enough and it could have been better, but I was glad to get away and spend some time with my wife. Next year I am going to forgoe theme parks and enjoy something a little more spartan. I like theme parks, don't get me wrong. But the crowds, lines, and heat made the whole experience a little less exciting. Me and Vanessa both got new tattoos and I will post some pics up soon. I got a distressed banner that says "vanessa" and she got a heart with my name on it. How cute. And that wasn't sarcasm by the way.
We saw Hot, Hot, Heat at Hard Rock Live. They were doing this nokia unwired taping for MTV. I like Hot Hot Heat but I started to question why when I showed up to this concert. The audience consisted of your typical trendy, myspace and MTV loving, scenster kids. There were quite a few people that looked way out of their element. I assume that they just stumbled upon the concert while roaming through Universal Studios.
We overheard girls making fun of others that supposedly got their hair dyed just for the show. I don't care how punk you think you are, but a hot hot heat show that is being taped for MTV isn't a place to pull out your punk rock club card. bitches. These dumb ass cunts would raise their beers and scream with joy and excitement everytime the camera would pan overhead. I guess they were begging to be on tv, but they will be crying on myspace when they don't make the edit. These are the same bitches that griped about Vanessa's purse touching them while they were dancing. Vanessa wasn't happy about their fat asses rubbing all over us. She was ready to fight and I had to hold her back at times.
Hot Hot Heat are a decent band and they put on a pretty good live show. I will admit that they are not outstanding and by no means groundbreaking but it was a solid show.
I gots me a psp and it has got to be the mother of all handhelds. I know the history of gadgets- just call me Tom Cruise. I don't have enough money to buy the 1 gig memory stick duo yet, so I am not able to play any videos converted with PSP 9. If you don't know about it, PSP 9 is a neat little program that will convert your various format videos to Mp4 (Mpeg4). PSP Video 9 Site
The hacking and modding communties have been long at work on the PSP and they have the firmware 1.50 cracked. I have firmware 1.50 and I refuse to update unless some lame game forces an automatic update. The swap trick allows you to run homebrew games, emulators, and even Doom. There are too many sites and blogs for me to list. Google for it.
There are ISO's (images) of many psp games floating around on Bit Torrent and file sharing sites and you couldn't do anything with them until now. Yesterday a loader was realeased for the game Lumines, it doesn't have sound but that is a step in the right direction. I would love to be able to play games with quicker load times and conserve battery power, by booting games from the memory stick.
I found a site with pictures and magazines for your psp. PSP Magazines Site They have a lot of different categories so surely there is something that interests you here.
I am impressed with the PSP but they need to release some better games and UMD movies. There aren't a whole lot of quality titles and there aren't that many big releases on the near horizon. I am looking forward to GTA Liberty City Stories but that doesn't come out until September. In the meantime I will be playing a lot of Tiger Woods PGA and watching UMD movies.
I finally got GTA San Andreas for PC yesterday and I was impressed. If you are expecting Half Life 2 or Doom 3 graphics, look elsewhere. These are GTA graphics, but more refined and higher quality textures than on the PS2. I pumped up the resolution to 1280x1024 (my lcd's native resolution) and it looked pretty nice. What I liked best was the fact that you can actually see items in the distance without jaggies and blurry textures. I only bumped the Anti Aliasing up to 1 sample because my hardware is a little dated. I set the graphics to very high and my computer has no problems running the game.
The game came on DVD in a nice hard bound booklet. The booklet is a City Guide for the three cities of San Andreas. It gives details and info on some of the places that CJ will encounter in his journey.
I had this on PS2 when it first came out, but I soon lost intrest in the PS2 graphics and I sold it on ebay. I only made it about 20 percent through the game so there is a LOT of gameplay left. I don't mind.
I received my Blackberry about a week ago and I must say it is a nice addition to my gadget family. The gadget family consists of an ipod 4g 20gig, Samsung A680 camera/videophone, and the blackberry 7290. Too much shit too lug around! As I said before it is the 7290 model and it functions well as an electronic leash/crack pipe. I get my work email on the fly and I have a Jabra Bluetooth wireless headsets for those akward moments when you cannot use your hands. As a phone it is mediocre but it really shines as pda/email/ and internet device. No Wi-Fi connectivity to speak of, but I hear they are going to implement that into future blackberries. I fully understand why the addicted have labled them "crackberries".
I wish I could figure out a way to get my personal email pushed to my device along with my work email. I can go the internet route and check my email via WAP and xhtml, but that is just too tedious. I want to know when I get email right away and not have to go out to the web to check my email. If anyone has a solution, let me know. I thought about setting up gmail as pop mail so it forwards to our exchange server. But just it wouldn't be a good idea because of security issues. So for now I am delegated to checking my personal email like I always do.
